Sir Alonne easily top 5 best bosses in soulsborne, personally within my top 3. Idk what it is, the arena, the music or sir alonne himself. I just love this guy so much and happily get my shit handed to by him any day
One of the five best songs I can think of throughout the Soul Series.
The best Dark Souls 2 boss, by far. Pro tip: when he lunges at you, RUN away from the attack and then capitalize with a running R1 after he misses you by a hair's length

if anything I feel like Alonne's theme sounds the most like Gael's theme with all the choir and orchestra

No idea why but this dude kicked my ass way harder than every other DS2 boss. The power that comes with good cleanliness, I suppose.
pretty sure he's supposed to be beaten with summons. it's one of the coop areas just like cave of the dead, frigid outskirts and iron passage.
@@alduinfr You just have to evade him old school with a litlle spike in difficulty with his cursed pain train stab move. That needs a bit of anticipation/experience but it's nothing difficult. For that you have to just skill ADP up to 30-33 to increase your I-frames/agility enough. Summons however can come in handy if you want to use the pacifist strategy against him. What is also fun but not necessary. He will just perform Seppuku when you beat him without getting hit in order to restore his honor.

after all these years, still here...
It's crazy how mid most of the DS2 OST is in my opinion except for this track. It REALLY stands out and would have fit right in the overall higher quality OSTs of ds3 and bloodborne.

Sir Alonne's theme is pretty amazing, but there's much better in this game. Calling most of the PST mid is definitely unfair, sure there are some stinkers but we've got... Burnt Ivory King, Nashandra, the main menu theme, Aldia's theme, Majula, Longing... all of which are better than this theme, in my opinion, so that doesn't even put Sir Alonne in the top five. Music is purely subjective though, you could hate all of these songs, but I don't.
I love how much of a waltz this is, it's not just generic videogame music with repetitive drum patterns, there's actual direction, and a complex subtlety not commonly found in other games OST.
This and Fume Knight are the best boss songs in DS2, hands down

Honestly, 2 of the best fights in ds2 are in crown of old king dlc , fume knight and sir alonne , but sir alonne is superior to me cuz he made me change weapons, i took blacksteel katana, one of his soldiers katana, and beat him , it took me more then 10 attempt's,(including run back) this is the best, this game could have been much better if not for bad run backs, bad hitboxes, and lack luster /rehash main game bosses

It's amazing isn't it? A completely optional boss fight has such an amazing theme to it, and for good reason. This is Sir Alonne, a Warrior from the East which the knights of the Iron King emulated in his honor. And to defeat him is no easy feat, but ultimately, can be a very sad one, for if you defeated him without getting hit even once, he takes his own life instead of you delivering the killing blow. The second time I fought him, I made sure it did not happen, for he deserves to die a true warrior's death, with our blood spilled in battle.

Naw, the Blue smelter Demon runback is infinitely worse than Sir Alonne. I nearly lost my sanity with the fat roll hexes, possessed arrowmen, and axe wielding hollows.

@@JoshDoVidsi just went through it for the first time and luckily I beat blue smelter on my first try but I can see how he can have a terrible runback. I think the duo cat boss in the frozen dlc has the worst runback in the game.

This is why elden ring ranks lower for me, most of the bosses were mid besides radagon. soundtracks were forgettable and bosses weren’t inspiring besides radahn. Overall though still a gd game
